Description
This course will focus on the correct pronunciation of English, with a native teacher.
The children will learn simple everyday vocabulary in different scenarios and understand basic conversation including greetings, and responses to basic questions. It will also include everyday adjectives, numbers up to 20, and colors.
We will also use Letters and Sounds Phase 2 (initial letter sounds, including ch, sh,th, and ph as well as the end sound ck), part of the Early Years curriculum in the UK.
We will begin to segment words to enable reading and then spelling of simple CVC words, and longer words as appropriate.
Depending on progress, the lesson may move on to Letters and Sounds phase 3 which includes a range of vowel-blends and beginning to read stories.
By the end of the course, the children should be able to decode many straightforward English words, even if they do not understand them, including the first 100 Frequency words.
Most of the course will be aural based and delivered through fun songs, games, and stories – some on screen and some at home (e.g.. ‘find something blue)
Above all, the children will gain the confidence to try using the language in a happy, safe learning environment.
